Team White Cougar, Inc. is pleased to
announce its formation for the purpose of entering and hopefully winning the
DARPA Grand Challenge.
Team White Cougar is led by
Ron Fink, a
computer development engineer, who has created a reputation as a maverick
through his development of exceedingly complex applications. The all-volunteer
team consists of 23 creative and talented people, which is planned to almost
double by project completion. Several members of the team are veteran
participants from other teams in last year’s Grand Challenge.
White Cougar’s “robot” is built on an
ultra-advanced vision and reasoning system that features a disruptive technology
that will bring safe and truly interactive autonomous robots to reality. The
system creates true artificial intelligence modules within a unitized
framework. Key individual modules are: vision, perception, object
identification, predictive behavior, non-sentient awareness (NSA), interactive,
strategic/tactical decisions, and purpose.
The vision component of the system creates
and continually augments a world-model in its “brain”. The object component of
the system correctly identifies the individual objects within the model and
interprets their potential behaviors. The “NSA” portion of the system
understands the properties, capabilities, and constraints of “self”; and also is
“aware” of its present location, orientation, rotation, and vector in all three
dimensions with the addition of time.
The strategic and tactical decision
component combines interactive purpose with object future predictive abilities
from current external stimuli to successfully anticipate, decide, and then
execute the best possible course of action.
Team White Cougar is seeking sponsors, and
also seeking mutually beneficial strategic partnerships in which to apply this
disruptive technology. |
